Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Compliance and Certification Engineer – Hazardous Location Technical Specialist to join our team at Cummins Inc. in Fridley, MN.

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure Compliance: Interpret and communicate environmental regulations to ensure all company products, processes, and facilities adhere to necessary standards, minimizing legal risks and promoting sustainability.
  • Technical Expertise: Apply specialized knowledge in engineering or project management to tackle complex components or projects, ensuring regulatory compliance and enhancing overall project quality.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with various stakeholders to drive project success, fostering a collaborative environment and ensuring that environmental compliance is integrated into all relevant projects.
  • Training and Meetings: Identify, establish, and facilitate compliance meetings and trainings to educate and empower internal teams, promoting a culture of compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Project Leadership: Lead small projects or parts of larger ones to drive efforts to improve environmental performance, streamline compliance processes, and identify opportunities for common processes and tools.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate with and influence key external stakeholders and business leaders to ensure that compliance issues are escalated and resolved appropriately, maintaining the company's reputation and operational integrity.
  • Mentorship and Knowledge Transfer: Coach and mentor less experienced compliance personnel to help build a knowledgeable and capable team, ensuring the continuity and growth of compliance expertise within the organization.
  • Innovative Solutions: Propose innovative initiatives and projects to troubleshoot complex problems and recommend appropriate actions, driving continuous improvement and positioning the company as a leader in environmental compliance.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

College, university, or equivalent degree in Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, or related technical or scientific field required.

Experience:

Intermediate level of relevant work experience required. Experience across organizations and global regions preferred. Knowledge of the function being worked in preferred.
