Cardiovascular Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate RN to join our Cardiovascular Rehabilitation team at Wellstar Health System. As a PRN RN - Cardiovascular Rehabilitation, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our Cardiac Rehab program.
Key Responsibilities- Provide age-appropriate, patient-specific care that addresses the biological, emotional, psychological, physical fitness, and educational needs of patients and families.
- Collaborate with system care partners, including cardiologists, health psychology, diabetes education, and other wellness programs, to ensure patients have access to all areas of the continuum of care.
- Develop and adjust individual exercise prescriptions in accordance with patient daily responses to exercise, adhering to department policy, ACSM, and AACVPR guidelines.
- Assess patient knowledge of cardiovascular disease, nutrition, risk factors, and develop educational plans to meet individual needs.
- Lead group cool-down and strength training exercises, and participate in emergency training sessions and provide emergency care per department policy.
- Graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing: Baccalaureate degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing.
- Minimum 5 years nursing experience, including sufficient clinical and management background to ensure competence in nursing practice and basic management functions.
- Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
- Ability to develop goal-oriented care plans for patients.
