Overview

At Novant Health, we strive to deliver the most remarkable patient experience in every dimension, every time. As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) on our Regional Float team, you will play a vital role in providing safe, continuous quality patient care in a variety of settings.

Responsibilities
  • Perform personal care activities such as bathing, mouth care, skin care, hair care, nail care, and dressing and undressing patients.
  • Use proper body mechanics when assisting patients with turning and positioning, transfers, and range of motion exercises.
  • Assist with patient's nutritional needs, including preparing patients for meal time and assisting with feeding.
  • Assist with patient's elimination needs, including collecting and testing specimens, and applying condom catheters.
  • Adhere to safety measures, including side rails, call bells, and infection control protocols.
  • Clean equipment and maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.
  • Perform special procedures, such as obtaining and recording vital signs, applying heat and cold therapy, and providing post-mortem care.
  • Assist patients with coughing and deep breathing techniques, and assist with patient mobilization as directed by the nurse.
  • Participate in the admission, discharge, and transfer process, including gathering and labeling patient belongings and orienting patients and families to hospital policies.
Requirements
  • Certified Nursing Assistant I (CNA I) certification.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 6 months of experience in an acute hospital setting.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation.
  • De-escalation techniques.
