Job Title: Registered Nurse - Psychiatric Partial Hospitalization Program

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Psychiatric Partial Hospitalization Program team. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing safe and effective care to patients diagnosed with behavioral health disorders.

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in our Psychiatric PHP will work as part of an interprofessional team to provide comprehensive care to patients. This includes admitting new patients, facilitating orientation groups, and providing psycho-education groups with documentation. You will also serve as a liaison between physicians and patients, and act as a resource person for medical questions and concerns.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform comprehensive patient health assessments and formulate individualized plans of care
  • Conduct all patient care in a patient and family-centered manner, integrating knowledge, skills, and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families throughout the continuum of care
  • Advocate for patients' rights and provide counsel while acting as a resource to resolve issues
  • Access resources from all disciplines to achieve desired patient outcomes and coordinate healthcare and alternate services for patient/family transition planning
  • Document all patient care activities, as per documentation standards, and assist healthcare team members with documentation
  • Evaluate the process to achieve outcomes, anticipate patient variances, and make revisions to plans of care
  • Makes clinical decisions based on experience, patient population data, and intuition while promoting the development of clinical decision-making of all team members
Requirements:
  • 1 year of Registered Nurse clinical experience, with psychiatric experience preferred
  • BSN from an accredited school of nursing, with Associates Degree (ADN) requiring completion of BSN within 5 years of start date
  • BLS certification required through American Heart Association
  • Licensed Registered Nurse or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse
  • Proficient in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills, exceptional interpersonal skills, and the ability to display a caring demeanor toward others
