Job Summary:

The Department of Student Media at Florida International University is seeking a student staff videographer to join their team of professionals. This role is responsible for capturing high-quality video content for PantherNOW, a student-run news organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce engaging video content for PantherNOW, including news segments, feature stories, and promotional materials.
  • Ensure all videos are well-edited, visually appealing, and accompanied by accurate and well-written caption information.
  • Collaborate with the Student Media team to develop video concepts and story ideas.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the university's brand and messaging.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in video production.

Requirements:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent storytelling and question-giving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in video capturing and editing software, such as Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Google Docs/Drive, and other relevant programs.

Student Disclosure:

Applicants must be currently enrolled as a student at Florida International University with a minimum of six (6) credits as an Undergraduate student or three (3) credits as a Graduate student during the Fall and Spring semesters.

During the Summer semesters, students need only remain enrolled and are not required to take credit hours, but cannot have graduated.

Upon decreasing credit hours or graduating, student employment must end.
