Job Overview:

The RF Engineer will play a crucial role in the planning, forecasting, evaluation, and reporting of products submitted for qualification. This position is responsible for the development, enhancement, and execution of testing methodologies and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Initiate and coordinate testing activities with cross-functional teams, ensuring thorough documentation of assigned projects.
  • Support initiatives aimed at simplifying and improving the customer experience.
  • Participate in the planning, design, and engineering of laboratory enhancements.
  • Integrate communication industry architectures, topologies, hardware, and software into comprehensive network configurations.
  • Evaluate new products and provide recommendations for enhancements.
  • Assist in the formulation and documentation of technical standards.
  • Implement approved methods and procedures.
  • Engage in projects of medium to high complexity related to CATV planning, configuration, and optimization.
  • Provide organizational support across various teams.
  • Contribute as a project team member, occasionally taking on leadership roles.
  • Adhere to relevant local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Project Specifics:

  • Complete all cabling for the new OSP lab.
  • Document and diagram the network configuration of the OSP lab.
  • Conduct testing of 1.8 GHz actives and passives for a High Split Network evolution project upon completion of cabling.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English for effective communication.
  • Skilled in using personal computers and software applications.
  • Able to thrive in a laboratory and team-oriented environment.
  • Capable of performing in a fast-paced setting and quickly learning new technologies.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and SharePoint.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong knowledge of coaxial, fiber, and Ethernet cable splicing.
  • Expertise in RF test equipment, including spectrum analyzers and vector network analyzers.
  • Familiarity with industry specifications and standards such as SCTE, ANSI, and IEEE.
  • Understanding of CATV outside plant network design or HFC network architecture.
  • Experience with S-parameters or MER requirements.
  • Willingness to work in a laboratory environment.
  • Knowledge of amplifiers and/or line extenders.
  • Experience with egress leakage, RFI, and channel noise is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Inside Plant (ISP) systems is a plus.
