  • Order necessary diagnostic tests to evaluate the current health status of patients.
  • Develop diagnoses and implement treatment plans for acute and stable chronic illnesses, collaborating with physician colleagues as needed.
  • Consult with department physicians or specialists to manage care for patients with complex health issues.
  • Facilitate patient transfers to primary care when care complexity exceeds the APP's scope.
  • Monitor patient progress during follow-up visits and adjust care plans accordingly.
  • Prescribe medications and provide patient education focused on health promotion and illness prevention.
  • Offer guidance and counseling to patients and their families.
  • Advocate for patients' rights to privacy, confidentiality, and informed consent.
  • Mentor new APPs and students, fostering a collaborative learning environment.
  • Engage in continuing education to maintain professional growth and meet licensure requirements.
Qualifications

Applicants must be graduates of an accredited APRN or PA program and hold national specialty certification as FNP or ANP, or certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Eligibility for RN licensure in the State of NH (for APRNs) and for APRN or PA licensure in the State of NH is required, along with eligibility for Federal DEA Registration and BLS certification.
