Key Responsibilities

  • Provide on-call and weekend coverage as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to patient care.
  • Perform history and physical examinations as required, utilizing your expertise to inform treatment decisions.
Requirements
  • Masters in Nursing degree from an accredited institution.
  • Post-Masters Certificate in Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 1 year post-masters degree experience in a psychiatric setting, with a focus on care for patients with serious and persistent mental illness.
  • NYS Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner License - Psychiatry.
  • Certification for Prescriptive Privileges (DEA).
  • ANCC Board Certification in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing within 120 days of hire.
Working Conditions

This role requires mobility and occasional lifting, positioning, restraining, pushing, and/or transferring patients. You will work in behavioral health, medical/surgical, and ambulatory areas, with a primarily evening shift schedule. You will be exposed to blood-borne pathogens, dust, fumes, odors, mists, gases, biological, mechanical, electrical, chemical, and other hazardous materials. You are expected to adhere to the Hospital's Drug and Smoke-Free work environment and to adhere to OSHA mandates and precautionary measures.
