Position Overview:
Oversees and directs electrical projects to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints, timelines, and quality standards while fulfilling design specifications.
Responsible for ensuring the availability of personnel, equipment, and materials in alignment with project schedules. Monitors work performance to guarantee compliance with company protocols and safety regulations. Evaluates, negotiates, and authorizes change orders. Formulates and executes strategies for project completion and handover.For projects involving union labor, assesses and approves the balance of forepersons, journeymen, and laborers' wage rates.
Maintains open lines of communication with management, clients, and subcontractors.Informs stakeholders about project progress, including construction challenges, delays, supply chain disruptions, and start-up issues.
Collaborates with engineering, estimating, and planning teams to ensure compliance with company standards and client expectations. Develops initiatives to foster strong client relationships on-site. Organizes and participates in client meetings for project planning and issue resolution. Manages daily operations of all construction project personnel. Provides performance feedback and oversees staff training and development. Approves time-off requests and ensures adherence to human resources policies. Mentors junior project managers and craft forepersons.For those overseeing union employees, ensures timely completion of performance evaluations per union agreements and reviews, approves, or denies promotions for union staff.
Conducts quality control inspections and reviews project plans for assurance of quality. Secures necessary construction permits.Completes additional project-related documentation, including coding invoices for cost tracking, preparing project status updates, and other relevant paperwork.
Oversees and approves monthly job cost updates and provides quarterly cash flow forecasts. Maintains daily project tracking logs. Performs other related duties as required.Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in construction management or supervision. Equivalent additional directly related experience may be considered in lieu of a college degree. Domestic and/or international travel may be necessary, depending on specific responsibilities and project demands.
Skills and Abilities:
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Strong planning and organizational capabilities. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, along with construction-specific project management software. Advanced understanding of construction disciplines, cost management, scheduling, safety regulations, and standard construction practices. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings. Proven leadership skills in managing field crews, preferably on infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, and treatment plants. Strong problem-solving abilities in a construction environment.
Work Environment:
Successful candidates will be required to work extensively in field locations. A valid driver's license is mandatory.
