Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with tax leaders and team members across the firm and National Office functional teams.
  • Drive resolution of complex tax technical matters, leveraging your expertise to mitigate risk and uncertainty.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to identify opportunities and expand tax technical services, including corporate and partnership expertise.
  • Lead technical tax research, communicating findings through written and verbal reports.
  • Manage projects, providing coaching and development to support tax practice initiatives.
  • Partner with the Learning & Development team to deliver tax technical training and development programs.
  • Evaluate implications of new tax law changes, providing recommendations to tax leadership as needed.
  • Conduct technical research, communicating findings to support tax positions and recommendations.
  • Represent Moss Adams in internal and external activities, promoting visibility and recognition within the tax technical community.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with a focus on accounting or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of tax professional experience, preferably in public accounting or law firms, with expertise in tax due diligence and merger and acquisitions tax consulting.
  • CPA or Bar License required.
  • Experience coaching and managing teams, including technical development of tax professionals.
  • Advanced knowledge of technical taxation and associated structures, with the ability to research tax positions.
  • Familiarity with research software and comfortable working with the Internal Revenue code, regulations, and authorities.
  • Self-directed professional with strong interpersonal skills, able to work with autonomy in ambiguous circumstances.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues and present to large or small groups.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to travel as needed, approximately 5%.
