Job Description

Brooks & Berne, a minority owned law firm, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Associate to handle New York Labor Law cases. The ideal candidate will have expertise in litigating personal injury actions arising under the New York Labor Law, specifically Sections §200. Our clients include property owners, general contractors, subcontractors, and municipalities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Litigating New York Labor Law cases from inception to resolution, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, court appearances, motions, and mediations.
  • Conducting thorough research on applicable laws, regulations, and case precedents to develop effective legal strategies.
  • Collaborating with claims representatives and insured clients to share legal strategies and insights.
  • Mentoring junior associates and collaborating with partners on strategy for complex construction labor law cases.

Requirements:
  • Legal Bar Certification: Must be currently barred in New York.
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of experience litigating NY Labor Law lawsuits.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
  • High proficiency in legal drafting and effective communication.
