Position Overview: The Clinical Training Specialist at St. Luke's Physician Group is a vital clinical professional responsible for designing, implementing, and assessing educational initiatives that support the development of clinical staff in outpatient environments. This role involves collaborating with practice leadership to identify and address the need for remedial training to enhance the skills of clinical team members, including Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and Medical Assistants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitates educational and training programs, including orientation and remedial training for clinical staff at St. Luke's Physician Group.
- Evaluates student performance in the SLPG Academy by validating skills before they enter practice.
- Maintains clinical proficiency in providing patient care in outpatient settings.
- Exhibits expertise in the educational process.
- Conducts annual re-validation of skills training for clinical staff.
- Identifies learning needs and offers opportunities for ongoing education and development through mentoring and clinical support.
- Creates and provides classroom and clinical experiences to enhance the learning of new and existing clinical staff.
- Recommends improvements to the curriculum based on identified opportunities.
- Contributes to the development of policies and procedures.
- Engages in activities that foster professional growth and development.
- Develops, implements, and monitors performance metrics for educational programs.
- Demonstrates competency in assigned responsibilities.
Physical and Sensory Requirements:
This position requires the ability to sit for up to 4 hours daily, stand for up to 6 hours, and walk for up to 6 hours. The role may involve occasional bending, reaching, and requires the ability to perceive attributes of objects through touch, as well as normal hearing and vision capabilities.
Qualifications:
Must be a graduate of a professional nursing program with a current Registered Nurse license in Pennsylvania or an LPN with a current license. A minimum of 2 years of experience in an outpatient setting or related field is preferred, along with CPR certification.
