Job Summary

CPI Card Group is seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our team in a fast-paced production environment. As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining Hot Stamp equipment to produce high-quality plastic secured chip cards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret shop floor router and workmanship manual as well as applicable specifications
  • Load sheets properly into lamination books, checking for mag tape registration and removing nonconforming material for rework or destruction
  • Clean plates as necessary to avoid sheet contamination or as a routine maintenance procedure
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions (written and verbal) in English
  • Ability to write simple reports and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Must be security and safety oriented
  • Must be reliable through good attendance, punctuality, and cooperation
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time without sitting
Physical Requirements
  • Work is conducted in a standing position and requires walking, bending, stooping, twisting, and lifting of materials up to 50 lbs on a repetitive basis
  • Environment is noisy and may require ear protection
  • Work involves good eyesight, hand/eye coordination, and normal color vision to ensure quality product and maintain safety
  • Work involves full use of hands/fingers to use precision or semi-precision equipment, tools, or instruments requiring deft hand movements
  • Work involves dealing with fine detail, which can be tiring both mentally and physically
  • Works with rapidly moving machinery that may require quick adjustments to minimize waste and time
