POSITION SUMMARY: The Early Childhood Assistant plays a vital role in fostering the educational and developmental growth of children enrolled in the Early Head Start-CCP Centro Infantil Program. This position adheres to the standards set forth by Early Head Start-CCP, implementing the educational framework and philosophy of the agency in collaboration with lead Teachers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitate a dynamic learning atmosphere for children, emphasizing comprehensive developmental areas.
  • Assist in the execution of educational initiatives with a focus on literacy, mathematics, and scientific exploration.
  • Support Teachers with various responsibilities, including home visits, parent consultations, and educational conferences.
  • Collaborate with Teachers to complete essential documentation and assessments.
  • Engage professionally with parents, guardians, and community partners.
  • Participate actively in program events, staff meetings, and training opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain an organized, engaging classroom setting.
  • Address the unique needs of each child with empathy and understanding.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in Early Intervention practices.
  • Familiarity with Teaching Strategies Gold System and Creative Curriculum.
  • Proficient in standard office equipment and basic computer applications.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience in a similar role.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Strong communication abilities.
  • Basic computer literacy is essential.
  • Capability to analyze data and present findings effectively.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education/Child Development or an Infant and Toddlers CDA Credential.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

This role may involve exposure to diverse work settings, including high noise levels and outdoor conditions, with occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.

Job Type: Full Time

Compensation: $17.00 to $18.50 per hour
