Operating Room Technician Opportunity

Physicians Pavilion Surgery Center, located off I-24 in Smyrna, Tennessee, is a state-of-the-art facility that averages over 200 cases per month. Our AAAHC accredited center offers a wide range of services, including dental, ENT, endoscopy, gastroenterology, gynecology, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, orthopedics, plastics, podiatry, and urology procedures. Job Summary

As an Operating Room Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our surgical suites. Your primary responsibilities will include preparing the operative suite for surgery, maintaining surgical asepsis, assisting with surgical procedures, and contributing to the overall efficiency of our operating rooms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare the operative suite for surgery by checking and gathering supplies, equipment, and instruments
  • Maintain surgical asepsis in the handling of instruments, sponges, sutures, drains, needles, and dressings
  • Assist in the turnover of the operating room suites between cases, disposing of trash and linens, and cleaning of equipment and environmental surfaces
  • Prepare procedure rooms for use the following day by bringing in equipment, setting up, pulling cases accurately, and reporting to supervisors items that are needed and not available
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a high school diploma or equivalent and completion of a Surgical Technology program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). A valid certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or National Certified Surgical Technologist (NCST) is also required. Additionally, one year of experience in an operating room setting, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center, is preferred. A valid BCLS Certification upon employment is mandatory.

The estimated annual salary for this role is $64,800-$80,000 based on national averages and industry standards for similar positions in the United States. The actual salary may vary based on individual qualifications and experience.
