Parking Enforcement Officer Job Description

Job Summary:

SP+ is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Parking Enforcement Officer to join our team. As a Parking Enforcement Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with parking policies and regulations in designated areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to the public, answering questions and providing directions as needed.
  • Issue citations and warnings for non-compliance with parking policies, using a computerized handheld device or manual tickets.
  • Assist with parking equipment maintenance, including inspecting and assessing lots for maintenance issues, painting, cleaning, and repairing parking meters and pay-and-display machines.
  • Collect and secure parking revenues and fees, using various payment methods.
  • Assist with event staff activities, including setting up for events, traffic control, and lot usage control.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
  • Knowledge of geography and hazards in the enforcement area.
  • Ability to use a handheld computer and operate a motorized vehicle or bicycle.
  • Ability to interact with others in a courteous and tactful manner.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older at time of hire.

Availability:

Special shift requirements may apply, depending on location needs. Availability to work 2nd shift, 3rd shift, and/or weekends may be required.

License Requirement:

A valid state-issued driver's license with a current address and acceptable driving record is required.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, talk, and listen. Employees are regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, including snowstorms and extreme heat.
