Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) team at West Florida Medical Center Clinic PA. As a PACU Staff RN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring a smooth recovery for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recognize and respond to changes in patient vital signs, symptoms, and diagnostic study results, documenting and notifying the Charge Nurse and physician as needed.
  • Assist in developing and implementing ASC goals, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Administer medications and parenteral therapy according to ASC Nursing policies, ensuring patient safety and well-being.
  • Initiate and carry out emergency procedures, documenting and notifying the Charge Nurse and physician as required.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and quiet environment for patients and staff, promoting a positive and respectful work culture.
  • Provide post-operative teaching to patients and their families, empowering them to take an active role in their recovery.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities, reviewing and implementing standards of care to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Assist with the maintenance, care, and cleanliness of supplies and equipment, ensuring cost-effective and efficient use of resources.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Licensed by the State of Florida as a Registered Nurse (RN) and maintain licensure prior to hire and/or transfer and throughout employment in an RN position.
  • Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (CPR and AED) certification throughout employment in this position.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience, preferably in a PACU setting.

  • Display customer service skills, strong interpersonal skills, close attention to detail, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with staff members at all levels of the organization in a cooperative, team-oriented manner.
  • Ability to work in close proximity with co-workers and maintain a professional attitude.
  • Displays computer proficiency (i.e. PC windows and MS Office environment) and ability to quickly learn new systems.
Physical Requirements
  • Medium (exerting up to 50+ pounds of force occasionally)
  • Constantly; activity exists up to 90% of the time
  • Frequently; activity exists from &fac34; of the time
Emotional Requirements
  • Must exhibit stable work behaviors daily.
  • Must possess adequate individual coping skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional regardless of workload or time constraints.
  • Must be able to work under stress and remain calm and professional.
