Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Financial Accountant is vital in maintaining the organization's financial accuracy and health through diligent accounting methodologies. This role is key in executing various general accounting tasks, which encompass preparing month-end closing journal entries, ensuring precise reconciliations of balance sheets and profit and loss statements, and conducting comprehensive analyses during the month-end closing process.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparation of month-end closing journal entries
  • Completion of balance sheet and profit and loss reconciliations and analyses during month-end close as assigned
  • Management of close administration – maintaining journal entry checklists, account reconciliation checklists, and secondary review checklists
  • Ongoing account review and analysis throughout the month, including posting of transactions
  • Generation of general ledger integrity reports and validations
  • Preparation of state and local tax filings, licenses, and registrations for business operations
  • Execution of cash management tasks, including daily bank deposits, weekly payment processing, and transaction research
  • Recording of property transactions, including rent and related expenses, utilities, insurance, and other transactions on a weekly and monthly basis as necessary
  • Lease administration and review in accordance with relevant accounting standards
  • Management of property and equipment, goodwill, and intangible assets
  • Oversight of expense report and purchasing card processes
  • Cross-training with fellow accountants to ensure seamless task flow

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • One to two years of relevant experience is preferred
  • CPA or CPA eligibility is preferred but not mandatory

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy is essential
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment typical of a growing organization
  • Team-oriented individuals with excellent verbal and written communication skills, adept problem-solving abilities, and flexibility to manage changing priorities are encouraged to apply
