We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Bemidji. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality care to our residents.
Job Summary:The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing nursing care to residents in a skilled nursing facility. This includes assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care to meet the physical and psychosocial needs of residents.
Responsibilities:- Deliver care within the RN scope of practice, as defined in the Minnesota Nurse Practice Act and in accordance with current federal, state, and Veteran Administration regulations.
- Provide assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation to deliver quality resident-centered care.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with residents, families, and healthcare team members.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members to provide and follow instructions.
- Use computer experience to complete electronic charting and use basic computer functions such as email.
- Make decisions within the scope of nursing responsibilities and evaluate the effectiveness of nursing care provided by other staff.
- Current Minnesota Registered Nurse license with no restrictions.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
- Knowledge of nursing practices and techniques sufficient to provide effective nursing care for residents.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining positive working relationships.
- Effective communication skills sufficient to provide and follow instructions.
- Computer experience sufficient to complete electronic charting and use basic computer functions such as email.
- Experience in a skilled nursing facility.
- Long-term care experience.
- Geriatric care experience.
- Experience with minimum data set (MDS) assessments.
