Position Overview
The Mortgage Lending Support Specialist plays a crucial role in providing administrative, sales, and clerical assistance to Mortgage Loan Officers and Sales Managers, handling complex issues that may arise.
This is a full-time, hybrid position that allows for remote work up to three days a week following the completion of initial training.
The primary work location is in Chevy Chase, MD.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize and maintain mortgage loan documentation.
- Provide support to clients and potential borrowers throughout the loan process to strengthen business relationships. Facilitate communication among real estate agents, title companies, and clients regarding necessary documentation for loan approval.
- Collect required documentation to assist the Mortgage Loan Officer or Sales Manager in the underwriting and credit assessment of borrowers.
- Aid the Mortgage Loan Officer or Sales Manager in preparing and submitting loan applications.
- Responsible for entering and managing referrals in the internal system.
- Input data and oversee marketing initiatives and tools relevant to the Loan Officer.
- Assist in scheduling and managing the Loan Officer's calendar for client meetings and sales activities.
- Collaborate with the marketing coordinator to meet the Loan Officer's promotional needs for events and materials.
- Support data entry into the loan origination system.
- Act as a liaison among Loan Officers, real estate agents, clients, and processing teams to ensure effective communication.
- Regularly interact with clients to gather information and documentation necessary for mortgage applications and cost assessments.
- Assist clients in structuring residential mortgage loans, presenting various loan options and their benefits.
- Review underwriting standards, structure loans accordingly, and submit to the automated underwriting system for approval.
- Coordinate and attend loan settlements.
Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Experience
A minimum of two years in mortgage banking is required, along with at least one year of administrative experience, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Additional Responsibilities
This role may involve other tasks as assigned by management. All employees are expected to understand and comply with company policies and procedures, including compliance training and risk identification.
Compensation Transparency
This position offers a base salary along with eligibility for a commission structure.
