The University of Washington Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Nurse Manager for the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit. This full-time position operates during the day shift and serves as a crucial link among patients, physicians, and healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide leadership and coordination for the Cardiothoracic ICU.
2. Supervise and guide the activities of Staff Nurses, Assistant Managers, Patient Care Technicians, and support personnel within the unit.
3. Oversee a 24-bed unit catering to patients undergoing cardiac and thoracic surgeries, including vascular procedures, heart and lung transplants, and advanced cardiac support.
4. Facilitate Human Resources functions, including staff recruitment and the establishment of performance standards.
5. Uphold the hospital's mission and objectives while ensuring high standards of care are maintained by the team.
Qualifications:
1. Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field, or currently enrolled in a Master’s program.
2. A minimum of two years of formal supervisory experience in ICU services, preferably in cardiothoracic or cardiac ICU settings.
