Med Surg Clinical Nurse Coordinator RN

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) plays a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care in the medical surgical unit. This position is responsible for coordinating all aspects of patient care, collaborating with the healthcare team, and promoting a positive work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality care.
- Participate in the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and other managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
- Support a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.
- Support the efforts of the facility to improve engagement by operationalizing current nursing strategies.
- Provide recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff.
- Assist with staff scheduling and manage all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs.
- Support proper inventory control and assist with managing supplies and equipment.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required within 30 days of employment start date.
- Registered Nurse licensure required within 90 days of employment start date.
- Associate Degree in Nursing required.
- At least 1 year of acute RN experience required.
Parkridge East Hospital is a 120+ bed facility that provides a full range of medical and surgical services, including orthopedics and robotic surgery. Our 24/7 Emergency Department is recognized by the Society of Chest Pain Centers as an Accredited Chest Pain Center. We also offer obstetrical care and complex gynecological procedures, as well as a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
