Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting the daily operations of our pharmacy department, ensuring the safe and efficient distribution of medications to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Medication Distribution: Prepare and dispense prescribed medications for patients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with state and federal laws.
  • Compounding and Packaging: Mix and prepare medications, including IV admixtures, and package them for distribution.
  • Inventory Management: Track and maintain inventory levels of medications and supplies, ensuring that stock levels are adequate to meet patient needs.
  • Clerical and Administrative Tasks: Perform data entry, record-keeping, and other administrative tasks to support the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy.
  • Quality Assurance: Participate in quality assurance activities, including data collection and analysis, to ensure that our pharmacy services meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
Requirements
  • Education: Current enrollment in an ACPE-accredited pharmacy school.
  • Licensure: Licensed as a Pharmacy Intern by the Washington State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Certification: Current healthcare provider BLS Certification.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical patient care, regulatory requirements, and mathematical functions. Ability to mix oral powders and compounded drugs, prepare IV admixtures, and use automated distribution systems.

This is a full-time position, working in a fast-paced pharmacy environment. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team setting, prioritize tasks, and maintain attention to detail in a dynamic environment.
