Job Title: Line Cook

Emmy Squared Pizza is seeking a skilled Line Cook to join our team. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality food items, including pizzas, burgers, and sandwiches, while maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare all food items on the menu, ensuring consistency, quality, and accuracy of recipes.
  • Expertly prepare Detroit-style pizzas, ensuring each pie is cooked to perfection with the perfect blend of toppings.
  • Grasp the art of burger cooking, delivering juicy and flavorful burgers that meet the highest standards of quality and taste.
  • Prepare other Emmy sandwiches, utilizing a diverse range of ingredients to create innovative and delicious options.
  • Ensure the preparation of appetizers meets the restaurant's high standards, including Emmy's Big Mozz Sticks and Crispy Chicken Crunchers.
  • Create beautiful and flavorful salads, presenting a mix of fresh greens, vegetables, and toppings.
  • Maintain smooth kitchen operations by effectively communicating with the team and executing tasks efficiently.
  • Strive to provide a unique and exceptional dining experience for guests.
  • Adhere to strict food safety regulations and health department guidelines, maintaining the highest level of cleanliness and safety in the kitchen.
  • Set up and break down stations as required, ensuring all equipment, ingredients, and tools are readily available.
  • Plan food production to coordinate with service hours, ensuring excellence, quality, temperature, and appearance of food are preserved.
  • Responsible for appropriate use of facility supplies and equipment to minimize loss, waste, and fraud.
  • Maintain safe food handling procedures at all times.
  • Store food properly and safely, marking the date and item.
  • Report necessary equipment repair and maintenance to management.
  • Keep work area neat and clean at all times, performing light cleaning duties, including sanitizing surfaces, washing dishes, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Other back of house duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 1 year experience as a line cook in a full-service restaurant. Experience working with pizza is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of cooking techniques and ingredient usage.
  • Ability to follow recipes and procedures accurately.
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment and its proper usage.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with the ability to prioritize responsibilities.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations, while working as part of a team.
  • Ability to produce high volumes of work while maintaining quality per Emmy Squared standards.
  • Must be able to lift/carry items up to 40 lbs. and push/pull items up to 75 lbs.
  • Must be able to walk/stand for extended periods of time, with frequent bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching overhead.
  • Must be able to utilize culinary tools (knives, commercial equipment, etc.) and taste/smell.
  • ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification is a plus.
