Key Responsibilities:

Lead and collaborate with a team tasked with the preparation, assessment, and completion of initial and final site plans and construction documentation.

Evaluate project survey data using cutting-edge technology and industry-standard software.

Examine existing site conditions and considerations for development, including but not limited to legal descriptions, ALTA surveys, easement documents, and condominium documentation.

Deliver construction-related services and mentor junior team members in completing tasks such as permit applications, cut sheets, quantity estimates, and transmittals; organize site plans, construction plans, and related documentation.

Employ Carlson Survey and associated software to fulfill assignments punctually and within established standards and budgets.

As a subject matter expert and mentor, you will support your team's onboarding training, career development, and ongoing professional growth at LJA.

Oversee field surveys, prepare and certify survey plats, including right-of-way, easement, and property surveys.

Interpret and draft metes and bounds descriptions.

Conduct and analyze property research, including deeds, survey records, parcel maps, and historical documentation.

Operate and supervise the use of surveying instruments and software, including levels, transits, total stations, electronic distance measuring devices, GPS survey equipment, and AutoCAD. Perform complex survey calculations to derive necessary data.

Provide technical guidance and oversight for daily field operations and aid in the timely completion of assigned projects.

Collaborate with project engineers to ascertain the desired survey output and select appropriate surveying methods and equipment.

Assist the Department Head in crafting proposals, estimates, presentations, employee evaluations, and recruitment efforts.

Engage in pre-survey planning discussions with project managers, resident engineers, and contractor representatives.

Required Qualifications:

PLS Certification.

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years in a related field.

Proven ability to coach, mentor, and cultivate a developing team.

Expertise in CAD, Least Squares Reduction, and other surveying software.

Familiarity with Robotic Total Stations, GPS (including post-processing).

Experience with scanners, drones, and other emerging technologies is advantageous.

Experience with ALTA, databases, large boundaries, streams, topographical surveys, and inventories.
