Role Overview:

The Construction Site Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership on-site and managing daily operational decisions for utility-scale solar initiatives. This role entails effectively overseeing the performance of both company and subcontractor teams working on-site. The supervisor plays a crucial role in project planning and is accountable for delivering a safe, high-quality, and timely outcome. Responsibilities include maintaining project timelines, budgets, and contractual commitments, along with engaging frequently with clients, analyzing construction documents, coordinating trades, and attending meetings. The position demands strong communication skills, analytical thinking, problem-solving capabilities, proficient computer skills, and a solid understanding of mechanical and AC/DC electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote safety as a fundamental value across the organization, supporting the corporate safety initiatives and personnel.
  • Assist the project manager in developing project budgets and estimating production rates.
  • Conduct precise take-offs and aid the project manager in obtaining client approval for necessary documentation.
  • Generate and submit Requests for Information (RFIs) to the project manager for client submission.
  • Receive, store, and safeguard project materials and equipment, including owner-furnished items; promptly document and report any shortages or damages.
  • Oversee the use of equipment assigned to the project site.
  • Ensure the successful execution of all installations from initiation to completion.
  • Direct, coordinate, and manage the activities of mechanical, electrical, and underground crews, including timecard submissions and cost coding.
  • Accountable for crew efficiency and success in maintaining productivity metrics, schedules, profitability, and client satisfaction.
  • Monitor and report daily progress, significant events, and upcoming tasks.
  • Assist the project manager with weekly forecasting and planning.
  • Participate in client-required meetings and address any inquiries that arise.
  • Ensure successful completion and documentation of Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) and Quality Assurance inspections.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager and Director of Construction to address issues arising from adverse weather, emergencies, or other factors that may cause delays.
  • Maintain accurate and organized project records.
  • Provide support and assistance to other divisions within Cinterra as necessary.
  • Encourage and uphold safety as a core value throughout the project.
  • Exhibit a professional demeanor and ensure all project personnel conduct themselves professionally.
  • Manage special assignments and additional tasks as directed by leadership.
  • Coordinate with various teams, including project management, procurement, logistics, quality control, and installation crews.
  • Oversee quality control measures and ensure compliance with site specifications outlined in project drawings.
  • Manage on-site logistics, ensuring materials and equipment are prepared ahead of installation.
  • Conduct site inspections and coordinate with local authorities and utility companies as necessary.
  • Lead team meetings, provide training and support to team members, and resolve any on-site challenges.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED required; advanced education is preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of construction management experience in utility-scale solar is required.
  • At least eight years of experience in utility-scale solar and/or construction is required.
  • NFPA 70E Certification is preferred.
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations is required; OSHA training and certifications are preferred.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are mandatory.
  • Ability to work extended hours, including weekends, as needed, with frequent travel.
  • Knowledge of local codes, AHJ standards, and NEC code is essential.
  • Working knowledge of pile installation, tracker installation, module installation, and AC/DC installation, including relevant equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret contracts, plans, and specifications.
  • Effective time management skills, with an understanding of task prioritization and deadline adherence.
  • A collaborative work style and a commitment to achieving project goals.

Physical Requirements:

This position frequently operates in a field environment, requiring extended periods of standing, walking, bending, squatting, and lifting. Employees may work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind.

The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the role. This position is physically active, requiring the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
