POSITION SUMMARY: Patricio Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a skilled CAD Designer to join our team in Stafford, VA. This role will focus on providing Computer Aided Design support for the Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV) Program and offer analytical assistance for the Dynamic Object Oriented Requirements System (DOORS) Database related to the ACV Program.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Acquire and maintain SIPRNet access to facilitate the creation of classified documentation.
  • Review, develop, and sustain CAD drawings and models in accordance with Program Manager Advanced Amphibious Assault (PM AAA) Configuration Management (CM) protocols for all ACV variants.
  • Identify and document discrepancies in drawings and models, coordinate resolutions, and provide constructive feedback to the Government.
  • Revise CAD products based on sanctioned Engineering Change Proposals (ECP).
  • Create conceptual 3D designs and conduct modeling analyses, including space claim, volume, and interference assessments.
  • Evaluate vehicle Contractor ECPs for the ACV.
  • Assist in CM activities such as Configuration Control Boards, ECPs, Requests for Variance, Deviations, Functional Configuration Audits (FCA), and Physical Configuration Audits.
  • Review and provide feedback on technical reviews, Requirements, CM, and Technical Data Package (TDP) contractor submissions.
  • Analyze system, subsystem, and component requirements for hardware, software, and firmware, ensuring traceability and connection to parts/TDP.
  • Examine ECPs, Product Quality Deficiency Reports, Field Installation Work Instructions, Maintenance Instructions, Technical Manuals, and training documents.
  • Manage TDP/DOORS change control processes.
  • Review drawings and TDPs/DOORS submissions.
  • Incorporate ECP information into DOORS, including Developmental Test/Operational Test/Live Fire/Interim Data Report/FCA.
  • Monitor the development and manage changes to functional and product baseline documentation for hardware, software, and firmware.
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of functional and product baselines to maintain the form, fit, and function of the platform.
  • Update DOORS requirements/drawings for ECPs after assuming product baseline control.
  • Conduct searches within the CM system to collect data.
  • Review Bill of Materials, parts lists, and drawings, specifically assessing specification drawings in relation to DOORS.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Proficient in researching, analyzing, and evaluating proposed programs and expenditures.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Adept at handling large data sets, interpreting financial records, identifying errors, and preparing financial reports.
  • Ability to foster effective working relationships with colleagues.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 6-8 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Proficiency in 2D (dwg, .C4, and PDF) and 3D (e.g., CREO) CAD files, along with Windchill expertise.
  • Familiarity with ASME Y14.100 standards.
  • Experience supporting an ACAT Level I - III program of record.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain SIPR Network access for developing classified documents.
  • Provided analytical support to uphold requirements for defense acquisition programs at various stages using the DOORS database.
  • Maintained the integrity and accuracy of functional and product baselines within the DOORS database, ensuring proper tracking and control of changes.
  • Reviewed system, subsystem, and component requirements; performed traceability analyses; and maintained change control while integrating updates from drawings, TDPs, and ECPs.
  • Supported CM activities, including data gathering through CM system searches, participation in CCBs, and assistance with ECPs, RFVs, and Deviations.
  • Delivered CAD support to defense acquisition programs, including reviewing, developing, and maintaining drawings and models per CM processes; documenting and resolving CAD file issues; reviewing ECPs; and performing modeling analyses.
  • Prepared reports for customers to provide status updates and feedback on issue resolution.
  • Reviewed and commented on vendor deliverables, instructional documents, training materials, BOMs, parts lists, and drawings.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position requires sedentary work, involving activities such as reaching, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, feeling, repetitive motions, talking, hearing, and visual acuity. Occasionally, lifting up to 20 lbs. is required.

Employees must be able to effectively see, hear, read, and write in English. This role demands adaptability, analytical skills, decision-making, dependability, good judgment, and social skills. The ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions is essential, along with the capability to make decisions that significantly impact the immediate work unit.
