Role Purpose:

The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all maintenance operations within a large wastewater treatment facility and a high-capacity sludge incineration plant. This role encompasses the management of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities across various technical disciplines, including plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and more.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement Reliability-Centered Maintenance strategies, ensuring optimal performance of equipment and systems.
  • Establish and manage maintenance schedules, ensuring all machinery and tools are maintained in peak condition.
  • Oversee resource allocation to meet project goals effectively.
  • Lead human resource functions for the maintenance team, including recruitment, performance evaluations, and training initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by coaching team members in technical and interpersonal skills.
  • Implement and manage Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and Asset Management programs.
  • Prepare and manage work orders and related documentation accurately and promptly.
  • Ensure adherence to maintenance and quality assurance protocols across all shifts.
  • Manage inventory and procurement processes, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Champion safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Oversee capital projects and modifications to the facility.
  • Collaborate with plant leadership to achieve operational efficiency and meet customer requirements.
  • Assist with maintenance demands as necessary.
Work Environment:
  • Primarily operates in an industrial environment, with some office duties.
  • May require outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
  • Potential exposure to operational hazards, including chemicals and machinery.
Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • A minimum of seven years of experience in water/wastewater treatment operations, with a strong understanding of maintenance practices.
  • Experience with various mechanical systems, including pumps and hydraulics.
  • At least three years of supervisory experience, demonstrating effective leadership and team management skills.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • In-depth knowledge of water treatment standards and regulations.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in using maintenance management software and other relevant technology.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Certifications:
  • Must possess or be pursuing relevant Water/Wastewater Certifications.
  • Completion of safety and operational training as required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving equipment.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces and at heights.
