Economics Instructor Part-time Adjunct Pool

Kern Community College District is seeking qualified candidates for a part-time adjunct instructor pool in Economics. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a range of Economics courses, including introductory and advanced courses, as well as courses in specialized areas such as macroeconomics, microeconomics, and international trade.

Responsibilities
  • Teach Economics courses at the part-time level, including lectures, discussions, and labs
  • Develop and implement curriculum, including curriculum delivered via different modalities
  • Assess student learning outcomes and program level outcomes
  • Participate in student recruitment and articulation of programs
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement departmental and college-wide initiatives
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Economics or a related field
  • OR Bachelor's degree in Economics and Master's degree in a related field
  • OR The equivalent
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching Economics courses at the community college level
  • Knowledge of curriculum development and assessment
  • Ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and administrators
