About the Role

The McClendon Center is seeking a skilled Mental Health Specialist to join our team of dedicated professionals. As a Group Facilitator, you will play a crucial role in providing outpatient behavioral healthcare services to individuals with serious mental illnesses.

In this challenging and rewarding position, you will work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to create an environment that fosters independence, creativity, friendship, stability, and greater participation in the community for our consumers.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with psychosocial assessments and treatment planning, maintaining accurate records of consumer progress.
  • Implement treatment plans under clinical supervision.
  • Maintain comprehensive, accurate, thorough, and contemporaneous documentation on the treatment plan, daily progress notes, unusual incident reports, attendance, discharge summaries, etc.
  • Facilitate and lead consumer groups.
  • Participate in staff meetings, case conferences, and training sessions as appropriate.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a social science or related field; Master's degree highly preferred.
  • One (1) to four (4) years of experience in a social services or nonprofit environment; experience in a mental health or similar agency is highly desired.
  • Must possess a minimum of one year of experience facilitating group activities and social services.
