Job Description:

Cynet Systems is seeking a skilled Medical Specimen Collector to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for collecting and processing medical specimens for testing and analysis.

Responsibilities:
  • Collect and store medical specimens according to established procedures and protocols.
  • Explain the process of venipuncture and other specimen collection procedures to patients in a clear and courteous manner.
  • Use proper technique when collecting specimens, including the use of straight needles and butterfly needles.
  • Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and ensure accurate labeling and processing.
  • Package specimens for transport and store them according to required temperature and protocols.
  • Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual department trainings.
  • Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
Requirements:
  • Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where employed.
  • Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
