Bexar County, TX is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join their team. This role involves performing custodial duties and ensuring sanitation control under general supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance to custodial equipment and supplies
  • Empties trash receptacles, disposes trash into compactors and/or dumpsters, and bags trash for proper disposal
  • Unlocks doors, ensuring doors are locked after cleaning areas
  • Reports needs and concerns to Custodial Supervisor
  • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies
  • Demonstrates safe and proper use of chemical/cleaning solutions and replenishing of housekeeping carts

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D
  • Six (6) months of general housekeeping, custodian, or janitorial experience
  • Able to maintain appropriate level of confidentiality in all business and facility interactions
  • Able to work non-traditional hours to include evenings and weekends
  • Able to secure and maintain a favorable background investigation from the Bexar County Sheriff's Office
  • Able to clear a pre-employment physical and a pre-employment drug screen test

Working Environment:

  • Working conditions are primarily indoors with exposure to temperature variations
  • May require working in jail environment
  • Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks

The estimated salary for this role is $3,042.00 per month, based on location and industry standards.
