Key Responsibilities:- Patient Orientation and Support: Greet and orient new patients to the hospital environment, providing directions and instructions as needed.
- Assessment and Documentation: Contribute to the assessment of patients by collecting data for review by a nurse, and document patient progress toward goals in a timely and accurate manner.
- Personal Care and Support: Assist nursing staff in providing personal care to patients, adhering to organizational standards and policies.
- Communication and Reporting: Report abnormal findings to the nursing staff and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Administrative Tasks: Perform administrative tasks, such as updating diet orders, verifying tray deliveries, and entering staff assignments into the Responder 5 System.
- Education: High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or higher preferred.
- Certifications: SRNA - Certified as State Registered Nurse Assistant in the state of Kentucky required upon hire, and BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 90 days of employment.
- Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving: Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Independence and Autonomy: Works under minimal supervision, with the ability to take initiative and work independently.
- Stress Management: Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action to maintain a calm and composed demeanor.
- Standing and Walking: Frequently required to stand and walk throughout the workday.
- Sitting and Lifting: Occasionally required to sit and lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Pushing and Pulling: Frequently required to push and pull objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Reaching and Talking: Frequently required to reach and talk to patients, families, and healthcare team members.
