Job Overview:

This role focuses on efficiently handling Reference Department library materials, ensuring they are accurately processed and accessible to patrons. As an Administrative Support Assistant, you will play a crucial part in maintaining a welcoming environment for customers of all ages and backgrounds.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Maintain Accuracy and Efficiency: Handle Reference Department library materials accurately and efficiently, adhering to our classification system.
  • Create a Positive Experience: Create a positive experience for library customers by shelving, transporting, and retrieving library materials according to our standards.
  • Tech-Savvy and Organized: Utilize technology and mechanical tools related to processing library materials, assisting with collection maintenance, displays, shifting collections as needed, and keeping shelves neat and faced.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Organizational Skills: Demonstrate organization, reliability, and attention to detail when working with numbers and letters.
  • Excellent Interpersonal Skills: Showcase excellent interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity, and a positive attitude when interacting with customers, colleagues, and the community.

Compensation and Benefits:

This is an unlimited position with a hiring range of $18.29 - $22.86 per hour, starting at $18.29 - $22.86 per hour. The primary location will be the Reference Services department at the Central Library.
