About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our team at ABM. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our school, college, or university campus environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean and maintain assigned areas, including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, office, and stairways.
  • Floor Care: Sweep, remove debris, clean spills, and mop floors in designated areas.
  • Waste Management: Regularly check trash receptacles, emptying as needed, in all designated areas.
  • Equipment Operation: Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
  • Communication: Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with clients, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, managers, etc.
  • Recycling: Collect, consolidate, and separate recycling into proper receptacles.
  • General Cleaning: Clean and dust desks, chairs, tables, furniture, fixtures, doors, sills, floors, ceiling, and walls.
  • Polishing: Polish hard surfaces, e.g. woodwork, stainless steel surfaces.
  • Food Area Cleaning: Wipe and clean tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food areas.
  • Equipment Movement: Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates, and equipment to clean areas, either manually or by using hand trucks.
  • Glass Cleaning: Clean interior partition glass, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
  • Seasonal Tasks: Sweep walks, rake leaves, cut grass, remove snow, or perform other incidental seasonal tasks.
  • Restroom Maintenance: Maintain the cleanliness of restrooms (clean and polish as needed).
  • Compliance: Comply with all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the Company, Clients, and regulatory authorities.
