Phlebotomy Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at BioReference Laboratories. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collecting and processing blood samples from patients in a fast-paced laboratory setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Collect and store specimens according to established procedures
Explain the process of venipuncture and other specimen collection methods to patients
Demonstrate proper technique for blood draws using straight needles and butterfly needles
Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required
Package specimens for transport and store them according to required temperature
Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations
Wear appropriate attire and PPE as required
Attend annual department trainings and answer telephone calls to satisfy inquiries
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where employed
Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent patient interaction skills and strong attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
