Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cytology Laboratory Supervisor to join our team at NorthShore University HealthSystem. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for coordinating and directing the activities of subordinates engaged in performing routine and non-routine laboratory analysis in the Cytology area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and direct the activities of subordinates to ensure quality standards are met and laboratory services are delivered efficiently.
  • Review test results and direct the repeat of abnormal results to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Monitor maintenance of existing equipment and service contracts to ensure accuracy of test results.
  • Coordinate departmental supply acquisition and utilization to ensure proper stock levels.
  • Ensure all staff demonstrates excellent customer service and adheres to quality standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Cytotechnology or equivalent.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in GYN and Non-GYN Cytology.
  • Previous Cytology Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent certification.
