In collaboration with the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice, our Department of Juvenile Justice Health Services was established to provide high-quality health services to youth involved in the justice system across multiple facilities in Georgia.
Location
The position is based at Rockdale RYDC.
Department Mission
Our mission is to transform the lives of young individuals by delivering evidence-based rehabilitative treatment services and supervision, enhancing the well-being of youth and families, and fostering safe communities. Each youth will receive tailored care aimed at improving their health literacy and overall wellness potential.
Key Responsibilities
The primary duties include, but are not limited to:
- Delivering patient care under the guidance of the Lead Nurse, utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Facilitating patient education and overseeing nursing activities and support staff.
- Creating a welcoming environment and ensuring exceptional service for youth, facility personnel, families, and external partners.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- A valid RN license in the State of Georgia.
- A minimum of one year of experience in a clinical environment.
- Strong organizational and decision-making abilities; good physical and mental health; capability to work effectively under pressure; and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Compliance with the Georgia Board of Nursing Nurse Practice Act.
- Current Health Care Provider BCLS Certification from an accredited program.
- Physical capability to lift 50 lbs, bend, reach, and stand or sit for extended periods, with the ability to respond swiftly in emergencies.
- Security clearance as mandated by the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice.
