AdeIphi MedicaI Staffing seeks a skilled Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team for a 13-week travel contract position in Spencer, WV. This opportunity allows professionals to work with a diverse patient population and develop their clinical expertise.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will assist an Occupational Therapist in evaluating patients to identify physical and functional limitations. They will collaborate with the therapist to create individualized treatment plans, focusing on enhancing patients' motor skills, mobility, and daily independence.
In this role, you will also educate patients on the proper use of assistive devices and adaptive equipment, maintain accurate patient records, and provide guidance and training for at-home exercises. The ideal candidate will be committed to delivering high-quality patient care while maintaining a safe therapy environment.
About the Role- Assist the Occupational Therapist in evaluating patients to identify their physical and functional limitations.
- Collaborate with the Occupational Therapist to develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
- Carry out interventions and activities to enhance patients' motor skills, mobility, and daily independence.
- Educate patients on the proper use of assistive devices and adaptive equipment to enhance their functional abilities.
- Keep precise and up-to-date patient records, noting progress, treatments, and condition changes.
- Offer patients and families guidance and training for at-home exercises to aid their ongoing recovery.
- Keep in touch with the Occupational Therapist and the healthcare team for coordinated patient care.
- Adhere to safety and infection control protocols, ensuring a safe therapy environment for patients.
- Offer emotional support and encouragement to patients as they work towards achieving their therapeutic goals.
- Valid and active Occupational Therapy Assistant State license.
