Job Summary:

Summit Fire & Security LLC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fire Protection Specialist to join our team. As a Fire Protection Specialist, you will be responsible for inspecting, testing, and maintaining fire sprinkler systems, fire pumps, and backflows with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and test fire protection systems in accordance with NFPA codes, demonstrating a working knowledge of sprinkler controls, alarm panels, devices, and critical components.
  • Record and report deficiencies of fire protection systems to SFS and customers in a professional and timely manner.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, as well as offsite monitoring companies, to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Operate and maintain tools required for inspections, including heat and smoke detector kits, backflow kits, and pump equipment.
  • Plan, coordinate, and complete inspections as scheduled, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.
  • Be available for on-call status as required by location to handle emergency service and inspection requests.
  • Maintain company-provided vehicles in a clean and well-maintained condition, adhering to company policies.
  • Ensure all assigned tools are safeguarded and maintained, adhering to company safety protocols.
  • Understand and follow SFS's Safety program, SDS book, Hazardous communication program, policies, and procedures, participating in weekly Toolbox talks.
  • Stay up-to-date with changing technology, installation, and testing approaches by attending seminars and training sessions.
  • Train inspector trainees in all applicable aspects of fire protection.
  • Ensure company-provided vehicles are clean and well-maintained, adhering to company policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • NICET and/or state-required certification preferred, based on location.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years' experience inspecting fire protection systems required; 5+ years' experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with basic math skills, mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, customer service skills, decision-making skills, ability to multitask, and ability to meet project schedules.
