Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Parent Educator to join our team at Child & Family Resources. As a Parent Educator, you will work closely with families and their children from prenatal to kindergarten entry, providing support and guidance to enhance their quality of life and promote healthy development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement the Parents as Teachers model and curriculum with fidelity, adhering to program and agency policies and procedures.
  • Conduct home visits and maintain a caseload of 20 families, ensuring a minimum of 80% visit frequency rate per month.
  • Prepare for home visits and complete the Planning Guide in data system (Penelope) prior to the scheduled visit.
  • Administer developmental and sensory screenings, connecting families to resources that address their needs.
  • Participate in group connections and facilitate opportunities for families to build social connections and increase their knowledge of child development.
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with colleagues, administration, and community partners.
  • Attend mandatory conferences, seminars, and program meetings, adhering to program policy changes and updates.
Requirements
  • CDA, Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Family Studies, Early Childhood Education, or related field.
  • Two or more years of experience working with young children 0 – 5 years of age and their parents.
  • Knowledge/experience in home visitation, group education, and typical and delayed child development.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with families, social service providers, and community partners.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Working Conditions

The Parent Educator will work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with children and families in their homes and community settings. The position requires the ability to sit for extended periods, stand, and walk short distances, as well as climb stairs and move through facilities and homes.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to supporting families and promoting healthy child development, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
