Job Summary:

Leidos is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Technician to join our team in Ladson, SC. As a member of our Security Enterprise Solutions (SES) team, you will be responsible for the rapid manufacturing of sub-assemblies and finished systems. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical theory and signal processing, as well as the ability to troubleshoot technical issues with varying levels of complexity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assemble and test electromechanical systems, including cables, harnesses, panels, and mechanical assemblies
  • Troubleshoot technical issues with varying levels of complexity, utilizing a combination of basic hand tools and power tools
  • Read and interpret work instructions, drawings, schematics, and other production-related documentation
  • Solder wires, PCBA's, and components, while maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail
  • Utilize measuring tools such as multi-meters, continuity checkers, and oscilloscopes to ensure accurate measurements and troubleshooting
  • Provide assembly feedback and suggested changes or improvements to enhance the manufacturing process
  • Complete build records and documentation as required, ensuring accurate and timely completion of tasks
  • Conduct quality checks on own work and may execute buddy checks on others' work, maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail
  • Maintain workspace cleanliness and organization, utilizing 5S methodologies to ensure a safe and efficient working environment
  • Follow manufacturing guidelines and procedures, adhering to company regulatory and compliance policies
  • Participate in cross-training activities to enhance skills and knowledge, staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and manufacturing techniques
Requirements:
  • 2+ years' experience in manufacturing or research and development (R&D)
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance (US citizenship required)
  • ESD Awareness
  • Average computer skills used for daily employee tasks
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Current or expired certification in any of the following: IPC 620, 610, 7711, 7721, or J-standard
