Position Summary:
The Production Assembler plays a crucial role in our manufacturing team, reporting directly to the Production Supervisor and indirectly to the Shop Floor Leads. This position is essential in ensuring compliance with our quality standards while operating within a lean manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assemble components in accordance with blueprints, work orders, and specifications to create parts and finished products that adhere to quality standards.
2. Complete assembly checklists accurately and efficiently.
3. Monitor stock levels in the work area and communicate needs to the Shop Floor Lead(s).
4. Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following established company protocols.
5. Uphold the GE Transport Code of Conduct.
6. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Basic math skills are necessary.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
The employee must be able to:
- Hear and communicate effectively in English.
- Stand or walk for extended periods, typically up to 6 hours, with minimal breaks.
- Lift and/or move items weighing up to 25 pounds independently, or up to 50 pounds with assistance.
- Have vision capabilities that include close and distance vision, color distinction, and the ability to read small text and labels.
- Operate a forklift and overhead crane as needed.
Work Environment:
The position is primarily located on the production floor, which may not have controlled temperatures and can vary with weather conditions. Employees may be exposed to fumes and moderate noise levels.
