CNC Machinist Wanted:

Ushers Machine and Tool Co., Inc. is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team in Greenville, South Carolina. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for precision CNC machine programming, set-up, and first piece runs for lathes, mills, and multi-axis Computerized Numerically Controlled equipment for production and prototype parts.

The Details:
Full-Time - First Shift (Monday-Thursday 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM)

OKUMA Vertical Lathes - Precision Finish Machining

Industry: Gas Turbine Component Manufacturing

As a CNC Machinist, you will work on complex, large- and small-scale turbine components that demand the highest level of precision. What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience in CNC machining, ideally in aerospace, energy, or heavy industry manufacturing
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD/CAM files
  • Passion for quality control and precision craftsmanship with tight tolerances
  • Team player with a problem-solving mindset and commitment to continuous improvement
  • Willingness to learn new and innovative techniques in an ever-evolving industry

Requirements:

  • Set-Up and operate basic manual and CNC shop equipment and tools safely and skillfully
  • Perform machining operations on all types of materials (e.g., ferrous, nonferrous metals, and alloys, etc.)
  • Work to job batch parts list, prints, drawings, specifications, and procedures to produce parts
  • Possess and maintain a thorough knowledge of industry, equipment, and techniques related to role
  • Suggest continuous improvement ideas regarding productivity, efficiency, and processes to management

Equipment Preparation, Set-Up, & Maintenance:

  • Set up and/or break down basic equipment, fixtures, and tooling
  • Utilize pressure-regulated air hoses; Deburr parts and edges to drawing specifications and shop standards
  • Use saws, sanders, grinders, and other equipment to prepare and produce rough parts
  • Train and perform routine maintenance of machines and auxiliary equipment (i.e., chip barrels, etc.)
  • Assist in the training of new employees in all aspects of machining role

Quality Assurance:

  • Promote, guide, and assist others to meet Quality Policy and ISO standards and customer expectations
  • Produce, prepare, and provide part to Quality for First Piece Inspection
  • Inspect part characteristics at in-process and final check points as required by specifications
  • Prepare parts with a focus on uniformity, quality, and workmanship
