Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team at Dermatology Solutions Group. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our medical providers in delivering high-quality healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Care
    • Assist medical providers with day-to-day patient care and management
    • Ensure accurate and complete patient information in the electronic health record
    • Prepare patients for examination and treatment, including taking vital signs and documenting patient history
  • Administrative Support
    • Respond to patient communications and questions in a timely manner
    • Prepare and maintain exam and treatment rooms, including cleaning and sterilizing equipment
    • Assist with scheduling tests and treatments, and processing referrals to other providers
  • Clinical Support
    • Assist with examinations and office procedures, including administering injections and performing suture removals
    • Verify patient information and specimen labels, and record tissue specimens in the log
    • Triage and respond to patient communications in a timely manner
  • Quality Assurance
    • Develop and maintain clinical quality assurance processes
    • Identify and proactively solve issues related to patient care and medical procedures
  • Communication
    • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and co-workers
    • Communicate effectively with patients, medical providers, and other stakeholders
    Requirements
    • Education and Experience
      • High school graduate or GED and current certification
      • One year medical experience in a physician's office or equivalent combination of training and experience preferred
    • Skills and Qualifications
      • Knowledge of medical practice operations and patient care standards
      • Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures
      • Ability to take vital signs, if applicable
      • Ability to develop and maintain clinical quality assurance
      • Ability to identify and proactively solve issues
      • Ability to maintain accurate records and record test results
      • Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures
      • Ability to use good reasoning and judgment and react calmly in emergency situations
    • Physical Abilities
      • Stand for extended periods of time; push, pull, and reach; occasionally bend, sit, stoop, and stretch
      • Have full range of body motion, including handling and lifting of patients
      • Have the hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity needed to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and medical equipment
      • Have a normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports
