Job Title: Senior Analyst/PhD Economist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Analyst/PhD Economist to join our Research, Monitoring, and Evaluation Capability team. As a member of this team, you will apply your expertise in economics to conduct research, monitoring, and evaluation at the highest levels of quality and rigor to generate evidence-based insights.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply expertise in standard economic theory and econometric methods across a broad range of research approaches.
  • Contribute subject-matter expertise in one or more areas, including impact evaluation, meta-analysis, monitoring and surveillance, and evaluation technical assistance.
  • Collaborate to execute or manage complex research and evaluation tasks, including developing research designs and analysis plans, collecting and analyzing quantitative data, and interpreting and reporting research findings.
  • May devise methods and lead the design of computer modeling, simulation, or forecasting using standard software packages.
  • Collaborate with or assist in managing project teams, communicating respectfully, meeting deadlines, and exercising initiative to resolve complex challenges.
  • May provide training and technical supervision to less experienced staff.
  • Work on complex assignments under indirect supervision, with latitude for independent action and decision-making.
  • Contribute to developing and disseminating project deliverables and other products, including client briefings, presentations, journal publications, and social media posts.
  • Support business development activities, including proposal writing and development.
Requirements:
  • PhD in Economics or a related field by Summer 2025.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in quantitative and/or qualitative research methods for program evaluation in the social sciences.
  • Experience with quantitative and/or qualitative analysis, data collection, and reporting.
  • Aptitude and interest in mentoring less-experienced staff and managing multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated commitment to principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion in research approaches and interactions with colleagues.
  • Demonstrated experience translating research and making it accessible to practice, policy, and/or government audiences.
  • A well-rounded interpersonal skill set with the capacity to build relationships with clients, funders, and workforce development leaders, and to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of relevant statistical software packages, including Stata, SAS, and/or R.
  • Experience with business development and proposal or grant writing considered a plus.
  • Strong interest in public policy research.
  • Effective communication in English, orally and in writing.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.

This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of approximately $79,000 to $130,000, depending on candidate geographic location.
