Aquatic Safety Officer

Objective


The Aquatic Safety Officer is responsible for overseeing the safety of all visitors in the aquatic facility, ensuring a secure and enjoyable environment. This role includes delivering excellent customer service and performing routine maintenance tasks.

The work schedule may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and on-call duties for special events or emergencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise a designated lifeguard station to ensure the safety of all patrons.
  • Observe activities within the pool area to prevent accidents.
  • Implement preventative safety measures and execute water rescues when necessary.
  • Provide First Aid, CPR, and AED assistance as required.
  • Advise swimmers on unsafe practices and enforce pool regulations.
  • Adhere to established emergency protocols in case of incidents.
  • Maintain order in the pool and surrounding areas.
  • Inspect facilities for cleanliness and perform general maintenance duties.
  • Patrol the pool area as a walking guard.
  • Support the management of special events and pool parties.
  • Assist aquatic patrons with various needs related to the pool.
  • Carry out other related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with general aquatic operations and safety procedures.
  • Knowledge of contemporary first aid and water safety techniques.
  • Ability to assist in planning and coordinating pool activities and events.
  • Capability to follow both verbal and written instructions.
  • Proficiency in responding effectively during emergencies.
  • Skill in building and maintaining positive relationships with colleagues and the public.
  • Competence in performing basic maintenance of pool facilities.

Requirements


Applicants must be at least 15 years old and possess a current Red Cross Certification in Lifeguard Training, CPR/AED, and First Aid.
