Job Summary
The Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical Telemetry position at STHS McAllen is responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced medical surgical telemetry environment. As a key member of the healthcare team, the successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients' physical and emotional needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans to meet those needs.
- Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing treatments, and educating patients and families on health management.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Monitor patients' conditions, identifying and reporting any changes or concerns to the healthcare team.
- Develop and maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records, ensuring timely and effective communication with the healthcare team.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices to enhance patient care.
Qualifications
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas or a compact state license.
- One year of full-time or three years of part-time experience in an acute care setting, preferably in medical surgical telemetry.
- BSN preferred, but not required.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
