Job Overview

Salary: $85k to $105k DOE

Position: Office/Field Engineer

Location: Flexible within the SF Bay Area, with potential relocation to Southern California in the future.

Role Summary

The Office/Field Engineer plays a crucial role in facilitating daily construction operations, collaborating closely with field teams and subcontractors to ensure projects are executed efficiently and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage in all stages of project development, including construction documentation, invoicing, quantity take-offs, and final submissions.
  • Establish and maintain baseline scheduling based on project estimates.
  • Request and manage submittals and shop drawings as necessary.
  • Track and record daily production quantities.
  • Document any project delays or modifications to the scope of work.
  • Process change orders as required.
  • Support the maintenance of as-built documentation.
  • Coordinate with project superintendents on daily operations, including workforce, equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
  • Assist in scheduling, planning, and budget management activities.
  • Act as a liaison between project management and field staff regarding schedules, scope changes, and conflict resolution.
  • Ensure timely and effective managerial decisions and oversight.
  • Comply with MBE/WBE/DBE requirements.
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Adhere to company safety protocols and OSHA standards.
  • Manage multiple tasks while maintaining focus on overarching project goals.
  • Support the timely execution of traffic control plans, equipment mobilization, safety protocols, and other essential tasks.
  • Assist in coordinating subcontractors to ensure timely and quality project completion.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license in good standing.
Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management with a minimum of 2 years of relevant heavy civil field experience.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with field superintendents and craft personnel.
  • Experience working with diverse groups, including public agencies, private utilities, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
