Job Summary:

The Stewarding Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the Stewarding team to maintain the cleanliness and sanitization of all food and beverage outlets, kitchen, dinnerware, and food and beverage equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the setup and takedown of select kitchen and outlet areas.
  • Ensure the execution of a rotating cleaning calendar for special cleaning projects and manage staff to clean accordingly.
  • Ensure a smooth operation of the Kitchen department.
  • Train staff on proper use of dishwashing and other cleaning equipment.
  • Maintain supplies and equipment for the cafeteria and Food and Beverage Department.
  • Maintain levels of Stewarding stock, assist in making requisitions, and obtain approval as needed.
  • Monitor the supply of clean dishware, glassware, pots, and pans.
  • Take steps to ensure the kitchen and restaurant have needed supplies.
  • Check the cleaning equipment daily and report any problems to the Maintenance department for repair.
  • Communicate performance expectations and provide employees with ongoing feedback.
  • Provide employees with coaching and counseling as needed to achieve performance objectives and reach their fullest potential.

Requirements:

  • Minimum one year management experience in full-service stewarding operations.
  • ~3 years experience in hotel food and beverage.
  • ~High school diploma required, bachelor's degree in hospitality preferred.
  • ~Basic computer skills in MS Office, reservation systems, and point of sales systems.

Work Environment:

Long hours are sometimes required, and the ability to work a flexible schedule is necessary. Good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment is also required.
